Home business, home education and health challenges: what makes us tic?

Yesterday was my birthday and it was by far the best birthday I’ve ever had. It started just before 5am with breakfast in bed, lovingly prepared by my darling daughters, with a little help from dad (not much!). It comprised an apple, a vienna sausage, a rice cake sandwich with an inordinate quantity of bovril, and a sugus sweet. And a glass of water. SO cute.

After that they went with me to see a client (I love when that happens – they learn so much). We did some school after that, but it was mostly reading and colouring. And in the evening my best beloved took me to dinner – delicious! He gave me my birthday present – an anthology of Shakespeare’s poetry, and even read some to me.

It was the best birthday ever, no doubt about it.

Also, last week I chatted to me good friend about home school. She recommended the Charlotte Mason method found in the Love2Learn curriculum. For Maths she recommended MEP Maths, which she says is brilliant. We’ve started it and so far, she’s right!

It’s all pretty preparation-intensive but it looks well worth it. We shall see!
