Home business, home education and health challenges: what makes us tic?

Come as you are

Come as you are.

Come with your hair uncombed.
Come with your missing two front teeth.
Come with your hyperactivity.

Come with your mispronounced words.
Come with your head in the clouds.
Come with your warts that cover both knees.

Come with your inability to sit still.
Come with your incessant questions.
Come with your fidgety hands.

Come with your outside-the-box thinking.
Come with your painfully shy smile.
Come with your voice too loud.

Come with your loneliness.
Come with your scars.
Come as you are.

Come just as you are.

You probably think I’m doing you a favor by opening my arms to you. But that is not the case. I am the one who is about to be blessed by the not-so-obvious gifts within you—the gifts other people don’t see because they fail to look past the surface.

Come as you are, I say.

Come here and let me see that light within you.

And let me tell you how beautiful it is.
